Configuration for the Internet Explorer (Shiva) Dialer

Double Click the bright.net Icon. (yours may be named something different). It should look like our bright.net icon to the right.

You will now get this screen. Verify that your User Name is correct, (It should be all lowercase and it should not have @bright.net behind it, because that would be your e-mail address). Click on the Properties button at the bottom.

It should then open up to the
following window. Notice how
there are four (4) Tabs across
the top. This is the General
Tab that we are on. We want to be sure that the Use country code and area code box is unchecked. Then lets skip over to the TCP/IP Settings Tab at the top.
Do not click OK at the bottom.. Yet.

It should then open up to the
following window. This is the TCP/IP Settings Tab that we are on.
We want to make sure that the circle at the very top, Server assigned IP address has a dot in it.
Then we want to look at the Primary DNS and the Secondary DNS, Your numbers may be different, if they are, update them to the numbers we show to the right. These are the most recent numbers. If you have different numbers it may cause slowness and sporadic loading of pages.

If by any chance you need to change your modem initialization string,

go into file manager and go to your c:\iexplore directory and double click modems2.ini
