The Catch...

The catch for user webpages is the 35mb (about 1 Gig per month, as much as many commercial webhosts allow) of transfer per day. This includes all the graphics, html code, and multimedia components referenced by your webpage that are located in your public_html directory.

The "traffic counter" is reset at 12:00am.  If you exceed this amount you will receive an email similar to the one below, and visitors to your page will see something like this:

Date: Thu, 6 Nov 1997 13:02:20 -0500 (date of overuse)
From: "Web Traffic Limiter" <weblimit@bright.net>
To: username@bright.net
Subject: Your website has been shut down for the day.

We have shutdown your website today due to the
amount of traffic it generated. Our free websites are
automatically shutdown for the day after 35MB worth of traffic
have been transferred since 12:00am that day.
Your site will be accessible again around 12:00am tomorrow
morning

You may contact your local bright.net provider
to inquire about commercial webspace. You may
also consider cutting down on the amount of
graphics or the size of the graphics on your
page as well.
